"The staff on Alaw Ward feels very much like a family"

Good luck to the hard-working staff at the Alaw Cancer Unit who are gearing up to take part in a 24 hour Relay for Life race in Treborth, Bangor, on June 18.

Twelve members of staff have signed up for the relay because they want to do something fun together.

“Twelve of us will be taking it in turns to do two hour laps during the whole 24 hours. We are all looking forward to it, as it will be the first proper social event we will be together for since the pandemic began.

“The staff on the Alaw Ward feels very much like a family, we are a very supportive unit and we always all pull together.

“We’ve taken part in this relay before and it’s very much a friendly event. We’ll be led by our Team Captain Emma Roberts and some of us will be doing the laps in fancy dress. It’s about raising awareness of cancer, and it will be nice to be together again and do something fun.”

Let’s hope the weather is kind as some of the team are camping overnight! Enjoy, Team Alaw!
