Kindness and Empathy winners announced!
The annual Kindness and Empathy Awards took place for the second year running to celebrate the Learning Disability Teams thanks to a legacy from a previous staff member.
The Awards, established in 2022, were formed to recognise staff who go over and above what is expected of them by bringing warmth and joy to service users and colleagues.
The nominations received this year were incredibly heart-warming to read and show just how much kindness and empathy shines through in day-to-day life across the Learning Disability Team.
Jane Williams, Therapeutic Support Services Manager at Bryn y Neuadd, said at this year’s awards: “We are so glad that the awards are back, it’s so heart-warming to hear people talk about the awards and to hear the nominations of the winners at the ceremony.
“It really does show what an incredible team we are and how we go over and above for all of our service users and for our colleagues, even in tough times. I am so grateful to be a part of the team and I am so proud of every winner, they truly deserve it.”
The Awards are split into three categories, with one winner in each:
- Inpatients Kindness and Empathy Award – Dr Jessica York, Consultant Psychiatrist
- Community Kindness and Empathy Award – Danielle Aitken, Health Care Support Worker
- Community Residential Kindness and Empathy Award – Deirdre O’Leary, Project Manager
Congratulations to all of the winners and nominees this year! Check back at the beginning of 2024 to see the next round of nominations go live!
