Family take on world’s fastest zip wire in memory of sister

The family of Sulwen Jones braved the Velocity 2 zip wire at Zip World in June in memory of her after she sadly passed away in 2021 following a 20-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Sulwen was just 35 when she was diagnosed in 2001 and was a very brave and determined lady, throughout her life, which continued throughout her diagnosis.

Her sisters, Nerys and Brenda, and their partners Steve and Elwyn, took on the fastest zip wire in the world at Zip World Bethesda in her memory and raised almost £3,000 to support other Multiple Sclerosis patients in North Wales.

Talking about the challenge, Sulwen’s sister Nerys, said: “We were absolutely petrified of doing the zip wire but were looking forward to doing a challenge in memory of Sulwen on her 57th birthday. It was such a great thing to do and tick off the bucket list.

“We just want to thank everyone that has donated to our fundraiser for the Multiple Sclerosis fund within Awyr Las. You have helped us reach almost £3,000 which isn’t something I ever expected us to be able to do.”

The money raised will go towards patients comforts, wellbeing and equipment for other Multiple Sclerosis patients across North Wales.
