Kindness and Empathy Awards
The Kindness and Empathy Awards are back to celebrate outstanding acts of kindness and empathy shown by BCUHB staff members working within the Learning Disabilities Teams in North Wales.
Thanks to retired Clinical Operational Manager, Jon Crabb, who donated £2,000 to establish these awards in 2022 we are able to recognise exceptional kindness and empathy within the Learning Disabilities Teams in North Wales.

Award details
- The award will be given annually to three BCUHB staff members working within Learning Disabilities Teams in North Wales.
- Awards will be given to one staff member from these three areas: Community, Inpatients, Community Residential Services.
- Recipients of the award will be given a £50 transfer award (tax free).
- Recipients will also be permanently named on a trophy.
- Nominators must demonstrate that their nominee has shown kindness and empathy to patients, relatives, colleagues or others.
- This is not a reward for work or performance, it is an award for adding value to the nominee’s role.
- The same person cannot win the award more than once within any three year period.
- Winners will be decided by a panel with a minimum of three judges
Criteria for nominating
- Nominators must nominate a BCUHB staff member
- Only individuals can be nominated, not teams
- Nominees must work in one of the following areas:
- Community
- Inpatients
- Community Residential Services
Key dates
- Nominations can be made any time between 16th January 2023 and 20th February 2023.
- Winners will be announced on 6th March 2023.
- Awards ceremony will take place on 3rd April 2023.
