Important information about donations of gifts in kind (e.g. hampers, care packages) to NHS staff/wards/services/departments during the COVID-19 outbreak
During this unprecedented time, we appreciate that many of you have felt moved to do something positive to support and thank our amazing NHS teams. Many local businesses and community members have already donated food, care packages, tea & coffee, and other wonderful gifts in kind to show appreciation and support for frontline staff. To those that have, thank you.

On 23/03/2020, the UK Government announced strict COVID-19 prevention measures, enforcing social distancing and limiting all but essential travel.
For this reason, the Awyr Las Support Team and Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board would like to request that you do not attend a hospital to make a gift in kind donation at this time.
Frontline NHS staff go to work to keep us and our loved ones safe. The greatest thing we can do right now to return the gesture is stay at home.
The Awyr Las Support Team is working with local suppliers to secure in-kind donations through safer, permitted methods.
If you represent a local supplier and you’re interested in supporting your NHS during this exceptionally challenging time, please contact us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness and generosity. It means so much to the NHS teams who are working day and night amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
Whilst it’s not possible to accept gifts in kind from the wider public at this time, there are many other, contact-free ways you can show your gratitude:
- Online here
- Facebook – press the “Donate” button on our page or set up a Facebook Fundraiser here
- SMS – text “Awyr Las C19” to 70500 to give £5 now towards the COVID-19 Response Fund
- JustGiving – start your own fundraising page here
You can donate to any ward or department across North Wales, so you can be sure that your donation will benefit the cause that’s closest to your heart. You may also wish to donate specifically to the COVID-19 response fund, which will fund additional items for Critical Care teams and other wards affected by the pandemic.
This guidance will be updated periodically to reflect official advice. If the situation changes, we will share an update on our website and social media accounts.
If you have any questions, please contact the Awyr Las Support Team. You can get in touch by phone (01248 384 395) text or WhatsApp (07779165404), email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or by direct message on social media.
Thank you so much for your kindness. Stay safe and we wish you and your families all the best during this time.
